Turnerbots

Hi! I’m Sarah Turner. I’m originally from Thomaston, Georgia and now live and work in Richmond, Virginia. I completed my undergraduate studies in Art Education at Columbus State University. It was then that I committed to being a working artist and educator. I taught high school art for a couple of years before moving to the great River City to pursue a graduate degree in ceramics. After finishing up at Virginia Commonwealth University, I stuck with Richmond and teach at the Visual Arts Center and Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA.  I work from my newly added and continually improving home studio.

If the work you see here isn’t enough and you are interested, I also have another line of work that I market on the fine craft market. You can also see the group of crafters I work with through the Richmond Craft Mafia. We bring awesome to the masses.

All turnerbots items are crafted individually with the help of my furry assistant, Caffy. (Gravity test results are positive). They are made with the most sincere and loving attention to detail to warm the hearts of you and yours. Primarily inspired by robotic friends, other seemingly quirky ones find their ways into the items. Currently, the line features ceramic coin banks and every day use pots--cups, bowls, plates, jars, vases, and the like.
